Use Your Slow Cooker To Create A Delicious Peach Cobbler For Dessert

Crock pots, or slow cookers, are a remarkable invention. Contrary to a lot of perceptions, they are not just for making main meals such as stews or soups. They can also be used for baking desserts and even making bread.

We’re using our slow cooker to make a delicious peach cobbler, complete with a tasty crust! The only danger is that it will be ready before the main meal, which could mean some ruined appetites!

  • 5 cups sliced peaches
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For main crust

  • 2/3 cup coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  1. Pour the five cups of sliced peaches into a crock pot and add the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix thoroughly. Flatten in the bottom of the crock pot with a wooden spoon and put to one side.
  2. Mix the coconut flour, baking powder and three eggs in a large mixing bowl, along with the maple syrup and salt. Mix to a doughy texture. Once combined, the mixture is then poured into the crock pot on top of the sliced peaches. The crust is then spread out evenly over the fruit mix.
  3. Secure the lid of the crock pot and cook on high for four to six hours. Open the lid and there should be a fantastic browned peach cobbler ready for serving. Serve hot or cold with ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream for good measure. Dust with a spiced topping of your choice, such as cinnamon.
  4. The amazing thing about crock pots is that once the preparation is done, the cooking is taken care of, leaving you free to get on with your day!
